FAQ’s
How Much Time Should I Expect to Invest?
There are two things when it comes to time investment and learning piano. 1) When it comes to piano, consistency is more important than the length of your practice. 2) The amount of practice time one puts in is generally proportional to progress.
This being said, one of the first discussions between the student and teacher is finding a balance between the two. One should not practice too long so that practicing becomes too much of a hassle, causing the student to end up sacrificing their consistency. Generally, this ends up being around half an hour a day. But this varies depending on the age and circumstances of the student.
I don’t own a piano. What’s a good piano to start out with?
If you do not own or have access to a real piano, it is necessary to look into getting an electric keyboard. Things you will want to make sure the keyboard ideally has are: all 88 keys, weighted keys, and a sustain pedal. The Yamaha P71 is a good example of a cheaper keyboard made by a reputable brand that meets all these criteria. However, cheaper keyboards without all 88 keys are perfectly fine to begin with.

Cancellation Policy
Scheduling/Cancellation Policy
Your appointments and well-being are very important to us. We understand that sometimes, unexpected delays can occur, making schedule adjustments. If you need to cancel your appointment, we respectfully request at least 1 Day’s notice.
Our Policy:
- If you cancel at least 1 day before your lesson you will receive a full refund!
- Any cancellation or reschedule made less than 1 day before your lesson will result in a cancellation fee. The amount of the fee will be equal to half of the reserved service, since your instructor has already saved that time slot for you. The way this will play out is, instead of receiving a full refund for your lesson, you will only receive a partial refund of $14 for half-hour lessons, and $25 for hour lessons.
- We require a credit card to hold your appointment. Cancellation fees will be taken from the refund to your cancelled appointment. For example, if you schedule a half hour lesson ($28), and cancel or reschedule within 1 day of your lesson, you will be refunded only half of the lesson ($14).
- If you do not cancel, reschedule, or show up for your appointment, you will not be refunded and will still be charged, as your instructor has reserved the time for you.
- Clients are encouraged to test their equipment before their lessons to ensure a smooth experience during their lesson. However, if there are technological circumstances during the lesson beyond the student’s or teacher’s control, making the lesson impossible, you will receive a full refund or reschedule. It happens to all of us. However, if a technological issue arises more than half way through your lesson, you may only be refunded for the time missed, instead of for the entire lesson. For example, if your lesson only has ten minutes remaining, and a WiFi outage occurs, you may only be refunded for the remaining ten minutes instead of being refunded for the entire lesson since most of the lesson has already been provided.
- In the event of a true, unavoidable emergency, all of your cancellation fee may be applied to future services.
